Star996 and what the old superslot.app page said about it
The odd one out on the old games menu: a betting website with sports, casino, poker and bingo, one browser link instead of app files, and claims we can't check.
Star996 never fitted the rest of the old games menu. Eleven of its neighbours were casino apps with fifteen or so games each and a row of iPhone and Android buttons. Star996 had three sentences of copy, one promotional picture and a single "Play In Online" link that opened a website. It was a betting site, not an app, and that is still the most useful thing we can say about it.
What the old page described
The copy called Star996 a place for sports betting that also ran casino games, poker and bingo rooms, with sports and "financials" betting mentioned together. That is the usual shape of an Asian sportsbook: football and other matches up front, a casino tab and a few extra rooms behind. The only image was a banner with a gold STAR logo between a pile of dice and playing cards, flanked by two famous footballers in their club kits. We don't show it, because the players never had anything to do with the site.
The same page claimed the site held licences from a gaming lab and from the government of the Philippines. It gave no licence number and no way to check, so we have left that out of this page. Treat licence badges on any betting site with the same caution. A logo is easy to copy.
No app, no games list
The old download page had one entry for Star996, a web link, and no files at all, as our install notes for Star996 explain. So an "APK" or "iOS download" sold under the Star996 name is something the old site never offered, and it deserves more suspicion than usual. Only three of the real apps, NTC33, LPE88 and Rollex11, had a browser version, and they had app files as well. There was also no list of Star996 games, which is why this page has no game sections, unlike the other apps.
A website login brings its own risk. Look-alike addresses with a copied login box are the simplest way to collect passwords, and betting sites change domains often, so a search result or a link in chat is a poor guide to the real one. Our guide to logins goes through the warning signs.
Money and the law
A betting site of this kind takes deposits by bank transfer or e-wallet and pays out through the same channels, on its own terms. Online betting, sports included, is illegal in Malaysia, and if a site or an agent keeps your money nobody official will help you get it back. You must be 18 or over to read this site. Is Star996 an app like ACE333 or Mega888?
Not on the evidence of the old site. Every other entry on the games menu came with iPhone, Android or Windows files, while Star996 only ever had a link that opened a betting website in the browser. There was no list of Star996 games either.
Is 'Star996 bet' the same thing?
People search for Star996 and Star996 bet as one name, and the old site used both for the same betting website. We can't tell you who runs it today or whether it still works as the old page described.
Is Star996 licensed?
The old page said so, naming a testing company for sports and the Philippine government for the casino side. We found nothing we could check, so we don't repeat it as fact. Even a real overseas licence would not make online betting legal for players in Malaysia.
